Management Team Golden Biography

Mike Golden, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, is a senior executive with a 30-year track record of success in the telecommunications industry, leading companies large and small. He is a proven thought-leader in the world of network architecture, winning the award for Best Network Architecture in 2000 from the International Engineering Consortium for his invention of the MetaRouter which is now being incorporated as a core element of the 2nd Generation Internet. In 1996, Mr. Golden founded and ran WarpSpeed Communications, which created a powerful, real-time, control plane architecture for managing the Internet backbone capacities of world-class networks. In 2000, WarpSpeed was acquired by Enron Broadband Services (EBS), and Mr. Golden was asked to become CTO and assume leadership of the 700 person team then designing, constructing, and deploying EBS’s advanced network infrastructure. Despite Enron’s unrelated management fiascos, Golden’s control plane technology was successfully integrated into EBS’s infrastructure and delivered a worldwide control system for their bandwidth trading activities.

Prior to WarpSpeed, Mr. Golden was CTO for TeleSciences, which developed management and Operating Systems technology for telephone companies worldwide. Mr. Golden is now applying his insights about control plane and signaling systems to the problems of low cost last-mile wireless bandwidth distribution for SkyPipes Wireless, Inc. Golden holds numerous patents and created the first cordless phone, the first computerized call distribution system, and the first automated public payphone network. In his early years, as an inventor and designer at the Mattel Toy Company, Golden conceived such well known products as See N' Say, Slime, and the first commercially successful music synthesizer.

Mr. Golden received a Bachelors Degree in Experimental Psychology from UCLA in 1964.
